I admit it. I'm a Daddy's Girl. Fortunately I've never had any completion being the only daughter.
This page is very special to me. It was 1996 and you might say I had a midlife crisis. I decided that I wanted to go to college and 'get the piece of paper' that showed I could do the job I'd successfully been doing for 20 years. Like I said it was a midlife crisis so, yes, I know it didn't make sense.
But I did it. I'd decided on Conestoga College in Kitchener. I'd never been to Kitchener and was a little nervous of finding the college. Dad said he'd take me to my first day of school, which by the way was a 3 1/2 hour drive. It was a great trip together.
Some two years later, as the family was getting ready to travel to my graduation ceremony, my Dad took my keys from me and said; "I was proud to drive you to your first day of school and I'm proud to drive you to your last."
The sketch for this layout is the Sketch~N~Scrap #65 from September 15th, 2014.
I loved the suggestion of using so many different patterned papers.
I combined the sketch with the Colour Challenge from Scrapmuch?
I loved the tones of this colour board. It reminded me of summer skies and Muskoka lakes. The red made the blue tones 'pop'.
Some great handmade butterflies I'd gotten in a small shop somewhere, a bit of twine and a chalkboard style tag that let me journal the event and year, and I was done and thrilled with my layout.
